Hypothesis:
“Heroic” architecture, a combination of striking presence and humanistic awareness, will allow both the creative vision of the architect and the participation of the user to coexist in order to bind and strengthen a community’s identity.

Precis:
“Heroic” architecture, a combination of striking presence and humanistic awareness, will allow both the creative vision of the architect and the participation of the user to coexist in order to bind and strengthen a community’s identity. “Heroic” architecture will allow spaces to be in dialogue with the user while innovatively preserving and highlighting an existing cultural context. This approach to “heroic” architecture will prove design’s ability to expand its meaning beyond something solely visually monumental or purely conventional to something powerfully imaginative and significantly reverential. A culmination of writings, precedents, and field studies will cultivate a methodology of design reflective of a “heroic” architecture with a harmony and purpose.
